Crossing Guard Information
Thank you so much for volunteering as a crossing guard! We are so grateful for your commitment to our school. It's only 20 minutes per week, but it has a big impact on the safety of our kiddos.
-
Volunteer application required:
To volunteer in any capacity at Coal Creek, you must complete the BVSD Volunteer Agreement Form. Even if you've volunteered in the past, you must submit a new form for the new school year. Please return this form to the front office.
-
Background check required:
Since you aren't directly supervised by a school employee, you must complete a BVSD background check and fingerprinting now. It is required by the district. The cost is $56 but it's good for five years of clearance so it doesn't have to be done very often..
Please let our Volunteer Coordinators know if the fee presents a financial hardship that would prevent you from participating and we can provide aid..
-
Read the handbook:
Please review these guidelines, created by the police department, to ensure that crossing guards can safely serve our community.

Join the WhatsApp group
Contact Liz Morrison to join the WhatsApp group specifically for crossing guards. This will allow you to quickly find a sub if you can't fulfill your duties at any time.

Find your equipment and enjoy seeing all of your neighbors and friends!
There's a bench in the foyer of the school, directly across from the lost and found. Inside the bench, you'll find orange vests and stop signs to use during your shifts. Please return them when done.
Again, thank you for volunteering for this important role and for helping to keep our kids safe!
