Volunteering is an excellent way to get involved at Coal Creek. Volunteering in the classroom usually begins in October, contact your student(s) teacher for details!

Events
Jog-a-thon

Fall commitment. Support the biggest fundraiser of the year . Volunteers set-up, clean-­up, serve water, punch tally cards, cheer, and count collected monies.

Vision & Hearing Screenings

One-day commitment in September. Assist district staff with annual hearing and vision screenings from 8am-12pm.

Spring Carnival

Spring commitment. Coordinate this fun event to bring the community together.

Silent Disco

Fall commitment. Coordinate this fun event to bring the parent community together for a night of dancing and music.

Walk to School Day

BVSD schedule. Publicize event and procure goodies for participants.

School Supplies

Collect order forms and distribute school supply boxes at the Meet the Teacher event in August.

Parade of Lights

Fall/Winter commitment. Organize and lead the Coal Creek entry into the Louisville Parade of Lights (December). This committee needs a chairperson and 2+ additional volunteers. Work with our music teacher, Rachel Cauley.

Scholastic Book Fair

Fall and spring commitment. Opportunity for families and Coal Creel to expand their libraries. Help our librarian, Will Ostendorff promote, set­-up, staff, cashier, and pack-­up the fair.

School Photos

One-day commitment in September and April. Assist professional photographer on picture days.

Movie Night

One-night commitment in the fall. Family friendly night movie at Coal Creek. Advertise, set-up, and clean-up the gym. Assist with food and drinks during event.

Yearlong Opportunities
Yearbook

Take candid photos, develop and distribute yearbooks. Parent Lead per grade (K-­5) ensures a candid photo exists for everyone in that grade.

Garden Liaison

Assist teacher and garden coordinator with garden lessons. Leads help secure volunteers for each grade’s garden lesson.

Corporate Sponsorship

Acquire business sponsors to support our school, define recognition program, and manage advertisements.

PEN Representative

Promote the Parent Engagement Network events/ messages to Coal Creek. PEN provides resources and tools to protect your children and raise them to be successful in life.

Technology

Maintain PTA website and offer ways to streamline processes using technology.

Spirit Wear

Coordinate with vendor to select offerings, advertise with school community, assist in ordering and money collection and distribute Coal Creek clothing.

Dining for Dollars

Contact local restuarants to schedule events, Promote events.

Grant Writer

Identify and apply for grants for various needs in our school.

Parent Partners

Liaison to new Coal Creek families. Organize mentor groups at the Kindie Orientation and set-up summer play dates.

Moo Caps

Collect milk caps from Longmont Dairy and submit for fundraising dollars.

Weekly Opportunities

15 minute shifts per week. Help keep Coal Creek kids safe. Monitor crosswalks in front of school. Choose your day and AM or PM slot.

Work Room Volunteer

As little as one hour per week. Make copies, posters, cut and paste, and other tasks to assist busy teachers. Training on all equipment provided.

Monthly Opportunities
Staff Appreciation

Organize monthly events to show thanks to our faculty and staff. Provide meals during conference. Help with food preparation, set-up, clean-up, and delivery.
